Every year the UFCW SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM offers scholarships to UFCW members or their immediate family members who want to further their education and demonstrate a commitment to their communities and to UFCW values.  Since 1958, the fund has distributed more than $2 million in scholarships.*

Past winners have gone on to make significant contributions to society and to the UFCW – entering a range of fields including public service, medicine, law, business and teaching.  Many have returned to the UFCW as staffers, organizers, and community activists who contribute to our mission.

The UFCW Charity Foundation Scholarship begins receiving applications on February 14 and will be available online from February 14 – May 15, 2022. Click here for more information.

*UFCW-employed officers and staff, and their immediate families are not eligible for this program. Only Scholarship recipients will be notified via mail. Recipients’ names will be posted on the UFCW Charity Foundation Website, www.ufcwcharityfoundation.org. Email cfscholarship@ufcw.org with questions.

The Steve Fricke Memorial Scholarship will award up to twenty $1,000 scholarships for the 2022-2023 Academic Year!

Scholarship program is open to members of UFCW Local 75, their dependent children, legal wards, and spouses. 

ELIGIBILITY 

1. Members in continuous good standing for at least 12 months immediately preceding January 1, 2022, their dependent children, legal wards, and spouses are eligible to apply, subject to the following additional provisions:
2. High School applicants must graduate by June 2022.
3. College undergraduates must not graduate prior to June 2022.
4. Employees of UFCW Local 75, Heartland Health and Wellness Fund, UFCW Intl. Union, and their families are not eligible.
5. Current or previous winners of UFCW Local 75/911/1099 or UFCW International Union Scholarships are not eligible.
6. No more than one grantee shall be selected from one family (household) during a single year. 

APPLICATION AND SELECTION 

1. Applicants shall complete the UFCW Local 75 Foundation, Inc. Steve Fricke Scholarship Application.
2. Completed applications must be received no later than May 3, 2022.
3. Scholarship winners and their photographs may be published in UFCW Local 75 Rally Magazine, or on the UFCW Local 75 website or social media outlets.
4. Scholarship winners shall be informed not later than July 1, 2022.
5. Scholarship checks will be made payable JOINTLY to the scholarship recipient and educational institution.

Scholarship Programs to help members with the cost of child care and extracurricular activities!

Scholarship Details
Up to [10] $250 Child Care Reimbursement scholarships and up to [25] $100 Family Enrichment reimbursement scholarships will be awarded in March, June, September, and December.

Eligibility Requirements
Must be a UFCW Local 75 member in good standing for at least 90 days prior to being awarded a scholarship. Winners must remain members in good standing to collect their scholarship.

FOR CHILD CARE: Member must be the parent or legal guardian of (a) dependent child(ren) enrolled in full-time or part-time child care. Child care must be provided during the member's working hours from a licensed care center or provider or legally certified child care provider.

FOR FAMILY ENRICHMENT: Member must be the parent or legal guardian of (a) dependent child(ren) enrolled in an extracurricular or community program that supplements that dependent's core education, including but not limited to: sports, souting, music and arts, dance class, school clubs, lessons, tutoring, etc.
