UFCW Local 75 is the largest private sector union in our region; although we are a private sector union, politics and legislation has a significant impact on our ability to bargain strong contracts and to organize new members. Politics and legislation impacts our ability to improve our quality of life and to build better communities in our area.
Working families are under attack by big corporations and their allies in government. Their goal is to create an unbalanced and unfair economy where wages are as low as possible and profits replace respect for the workers that created them. We know that businesses like the “freedom” to do whatever they want, whenever they want.
That’s why it’s so important for us to support candidates and elected officials who will advocate for us. Together, we’re capable of winning hearts and minds. Together, we can win the political fights that matter.
This year, because you got involved—by canvassing, phonebanking, talking to others in your worksite, or just coming out to vote—we were able to elect strong, pro-worker leaders in our communities.
