As part of an effort to highlight hard-working people, and their support of good union jobs, UFCW Local 75 is launching a coordinated grassroots and television campaign thanking the community and customers for shopping at stores that support good union jobs.
The “Summer of Thanks” initiative includes a new television ad campaign, entitled “Thank You” which features local workers and members of the UFCW from Cincinnati, Dayton, Toledo, and Northern Kentucky who work at Kroger, Meijer, CVS, ConAgra, and Fairfield Center. The campaign has a simple goal – to say “thank you” to everyone who works hard, as well as to raise awareness about the importance of celebrating good union jobs that provide better wages and better benefits, like those our 30,000 members enjoy.
“No one works harder than the people who live in our communities, and we want to celebrate them and say thank you for the incredible support they show every day to the men and women of the UFCW who work at Kroger, Meijer, and CVS,” said UFCW Local 75 President Kevin Garvey. “Good union jobs not only pay better wages and benefits, they reflect the values of our community. We put family first, and we believe that when we work hard, we’ve earned the right to a better life.”
In addition to the new ad, UFCW Local 75 members will begin a series of grassroots actions at various locations in Greater Cincinnati, Dayton, and Toledo. The purpose of these small actions is to give customers and community members a personal thank you for their support.
“Saying ‘thank you’ is about more than us showing our gratitude to customers, it’s about recognizing how their hard work helps to produce good jobs that strengthen our community. It’s about identifying responsible companies who are doing the right thing by supporting these jobs. It’s about letting everyone in our community know that they, too, can earn a better life when we all stand together,” said Garvey.
The “Thank You” ad will launch on Tuesday, June 21, and will run throughout the coming weeks in the Cincinnati, Dayton, and Toledo markets. The ad includes real UFCW Local 75 members who work in local grocery stores, pharmacies, meat-packing plants, and health care facilities.
