Three Local 75 Members Become US Citizens

FullSizeRenderThree UFCW Local 75 members became United States citizens on March 13. Ernestina Aldana and Rosa Molina of John Morrell, along with Nicolas Costas, Chief Steward at Sugar Creek Packing are the first graduates of UFCW Local 75’s citizenship clinic program to complete the naturalization process.

Local 75 became one of the first UFCW locals in the country to organize citizenship clinics to help legal, permanent residents become US citizens. The first of these clinics was held in November 2014, and more are scheduled for this year.

In addition to helping members and their families navigate the naturalization process, Local 75 holds workshops on filling out Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) applications and has hosted several information sessions on President Obama’s Executive Action/DAPA. If you or a family member are interested in attending a workshop on citizenship or DACA, contact Francisco Castillo (Español) (877) 665-0075 Ext. 3096 / francisco.castillo@ufcw75.org  or Bill Dudley (English) (877) 665-0075 Ext. 3041 / bill.dudley@ufcw75.org.

Congratulations Ernestina, Rosa, and Nicolas!
