Kroger Toledo Associates
Ratify New Contract with UFCW Local 75
TOLEDO, OHIO December 14, 2018 — Kroger Columbus division today announced associates working at stores in Toledo have ratified a new labor agreement with the United Food and Commercial Workers Union (UFCW) Local 75.
The Toledo agreement raises starting wages to at least $10 per hour and accelerates wage progressions to $11 an hour after one year of service. It also includes a premium increase for night shift work.
The Toledo contract was set to expire in March 2019. The new Toledo agreement is one of several Kroger contracts recently ratified early, including the Columbus region.
The Local 75 contract covers more than 3,621associates working at 23 stores in Toledo and surrounding areas.
“We are excited that the contract has ratified, and our hard-working associates get the raises they deserve earlier. This new contract provides significant pay increases, maintains affordable Kroger-sponsored health care and a pension to support associates’ retirement,” said Dan De La Rosa, president of Kroger’s Columbus division. “This agreement comes after thoughtful and productive work by both the company and union bargaining committees. I want to thank our dedicated associates for supporting this agreement and for the excellent, uplifting service they provide to our customers every day.”
“UFCW Local 75 strives to negotiate contracts that secure better wages and affordable benefits, providing a voice for hard-working men and women and strengthening our communities and this contract does those important things,” said Kevin Garvey, president, UFCW 75.
