The Kroger Company announced today that it will be closing the Walnut Hills Kroger store in March in conjunction with the grand opening of the new Corryville store in order to address the needs of the community. President Kevin Garvey of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union stated, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement, that all contractual rights of the union members involved will remain intact and members will have the option to go to the new Corryville store or a mutually agreed upon store of their choice. The new Corryville Kroger will be larger and bring new opportunities to the community and UFCW members. President Garvey wants to assure all members that union representatives will be available to address any union members’ concerns.
