Through the hard work of the Toledo Bargaining Committees, we were able to reach a good agreement that protects fair wages, affordable health care, and strong contract language.
The new contracts:
Protect full-time jobs. In an increasingly part-time industry, full-time positions will be added over the life of the agreement.
Secure affordable, quality health care. There is only one increase in weekly contributions until 2018. Members have more options for health care and may take advantage of lower weekly contributions by completing biometric screenings. Spousal coverage is maintained through the spouse’s employer provided, Affordable Care Act (ACA) qualified benefits; other spouses continue to have coverage through your union contracts. Part-time members retain access to health care benefits.
Include guaranteed wage increases every year over term. Top rated classification rates will increase over term; the part-time cap will also increase. There are new premiums for some classifications.
Guarantees pension benefits. Members of UFCW Local 75 are part of the UFCW Consolidated Pension Fund, ratified in 2011. Pension benefits are guaranteed for ten years, until 2021. Meat Pension benefits are also secure.
