UFCW75/Cincinnati Kroger Bargaining Update

UFCW Local 75 and Kroger met to continue our work on bargaining a new contract for members in Cincinnati Area stores.  We spent the majority of our time this week talking about health care.  We made good progress on new health care language and plan designs, but are still working through important items, including the way in which your benefits are funded over the term of the agreement.

Our goal is to reach a balanced agreement with affordable health care benefits, wage increases, and language improvements. And, as you know, negotiations around health care have been especially complicated in this round of bargaining, in part, because of the new requirements of the ACA.  Some outstanding items related to health care are being reviewed by legal counsel.

Your Union Bargaining Committee also went over tentatively agreed to language in the Dayton contract.

We appreciate your patience as we continue work on a new agreement. Members in Cincinnati are working under a contract extension; your wages and benefits will not change as a result of this agreement.

UFCW Local 75 is holding Area Member Meetings for members in Dayton on Monday, June 23, and Area Member Meetings for members in Cincinnati on Monday, June 30.  A full schedule is available on our website. We encourage you to attend so you can get latest information on contract negotiations and ask questions.

For more information, please contact your Union Representative.
The UFCW Local 75/Cincinnati Kroger contract is on extension; it covers about 12,000 people.  The UFCW Local 75/Dayton Kroger contract expires in June 2015; it covers about 4,000 people.
