UFCW Local 75 and Kroger continued bargaining the week of November 4, 2013 and agreed to extend the contract until March 1, 2014. The Cincinnati Kroger agreement covers over 12,000 Kroger workers in the Greater Cincinnati Area.
We have made progress throughout negotiations regarding language items, but continue to focus on your health care benefits. Our goal is to create meaningful, and practical, solutions to our health care challenges, so we are proceeding cautiously. Health and welfare bargaining is always complex and is always time consuming. A number of UFCW/Kroger agreements across the country have been extended over the past year, often because of the new requirements of the law.
Your wages and benefits will not change as a result of the contract extension; the extension includes retroactivity to October 5, 2013.
